Description

Another post (maybe my own favorite from the series) from my recent long weekend at the northern part of Sweden (Kittelfjäll, Lappland).

One of the days we had superb weather conditions with a an almost blue sky, sunny weather and no wind at all.

This particular day we rented snow scooters to take us high up on the mountains. These scooters go past 100 km/hour and it is mega fun to ride one of them.

The snowy landscapes were so impressive and beautiful.

This particular photograph was elected the "travelling photograph of the week" in our local newspaper - Expressen.

The camera gear consisted of my camera (Canon 5D). Lense used was Canon 24-70 f2.8 + a polarizer filter to get that dark blue:ish sky. :)

Hope you will enjoy!

Hey Pat

Like the setup. You always see such shots in relation of exploring sort of the uncharted Territory.
Now seeing people walking over snowmobile tracks is sort of killing the meaning. Don't you think?
I used a simple clone tool to get rid of this tracks.

@Fumera: Thanks for taking the time to look further into my work. Always appreciated. I think you are right and wrong...
I see it as what it is and not wanting to change the "real" view. This part of the mountains is mainly untouched ecept the tracks from us walking and also from the snow scooters passing by this mountain top. I find the tracks exciting as a matter of fact but maybe from an artistic point you are correct.

The view btw from this top was just fantastic! :p

Cheers!

;)

8pt for the setup. technically its perfect but common you have to do a version without the tracks. :)

Enjoyable composition in so far as it is well balanced and provides a sense of movement as they ascend this peak. The three people at differing distances and angles as they climb up fills composition with areas of interest, while allowing enough space to give the viewer an light airy feeling. The snow mobile tracks help in balancing out the composition, without it the scene would bring more attention to the peak. Also the tracks add to the movement of the people walking up the slope.

A good capture of the scene. I like the contrast of the clean white snow and the dark blue sky. I'm not particularly fond of everyone walking away from the camera and I actually prefer the previous post for its composition and its textures in the snow.
Regardless, this is still well done.

I wanna go in snow vacations as well!!!
The exposure is just perfect, and the polarized filter really worked well! I like the footprints, it shows the travelled paths.

Looks like an enormous snow dune! Reminds me of your pictures from the desert. Good shot as snow tends to go overexposed rather easily. Top marks! I wanna go there
